God's Names

Hi,
Hope you all had a great weekend. I know Betty and Jack were/are busy with Aunt June; she needs prayer.
I think that we've finally decided on a church, but because of Chuck's job we haven't been able to attend anything other than the 9:00 service on Sunday's. Pray please for him a job. He sent out a resume today. God will open and shut doors. Thanks!
Many of you know that Chuck and I volunteer at Graham Correctional Center. We have a wonderful time of celebrating Jesus with the guys. I told you about Chuck's missing wallet. The chaplain, Denise, called on Thursday and told me that what happened was a blessing in disguise.
The lieutenant actually went to the guys and explained what happened and gave them Chuck's apology that they had to be searched. But, the best part is that NO contraband was found at this impromptu search and that spoke volumes to the administration and guards. The credibility of the chapel went up a thousand fold. Isn't the Lord wonderful to take something that Satan wanted to destroy and make blessings come from it? Yes, He is!
My friend Jean is doing well, considering the circumstances. Thank you for your prayers. Her back is broken, they've stitched up her belly and everything seems to be working well. Continue to pray for no infection. They took out her intubation and that's a huge milestone.
We got to take care of two little bundles of energy Friday night. Fun! Our cup overflows with blessings.
Today's scripture is from Ruth. Remember ladies from our S.S. class when we studied that wonderful book? My reading led me there this last week and I was reminded by notes I'd made in the margin about God's names.
In the first chapter alone His name: Lord is used 7 times. Lord means: Yahweh, I AM Sovereign. He is in control, of everything, always, He alone.
His name: God is used 2 times. It means: Elohim, plural noun, meaning 3 persons, one God. It also means Creator and Everlasting.
The last name: Almighty is used 2 times and it is: El Shaddai which means: Everlasting, all sufficient Father.
There are more names for our wonderful Lord and you can study them to help increase your understanding of who He is. Try a Google search or find a book at the book store. Then, pray over His names, asking Him to reveal to you what you need to learn about Him and what His names mean. Spend time thanking and praising Him for who He is and all that He does.
By having all His names and finding verses about these names, your wisdom, knowledge and understanding will increase, along with your awe, wonder and thankfulness of Him.

He is Lord,
Sandy
