2 Peter 1:20-21

Hey,
The sun is shining and warm temps are promised. Yeah! I always feel like the Lord is smiling on us when the sun shines.
I wasn't able to meet with my new disciple, Sandy. She promises to come next week. Satan is doing lots to keep her away from finding freedom in Christ. I was able to explain this to her after she made the comment about really odd things happening. Please continue to keep her in your prayers. Thanks!
When Christ was born, many prophecies were fulfilled. The end of times prophecy will be fulfilled, according to God's time line. I've been reading through Matthew and enjoying knowing that the Lord will keep His promise to take us home, for eternity.
This teaching brings me to 2 Peter 1:20-21: "Above all, you must understand that NO prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit." See also: 2 Timothy 3:16; 1 Corinthians 2:13.
Prophecy fulfilled, is by God's divine hand. But, He used men to write it down. Deuteronomy 18:22 says:"If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has NOT spoken. The prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him." In other words, if God gives the message, it will come true. And many have and many will.
Back to man. God used prophets in old times to relay (verbally) His message. He used men to write the Bible. The key here is: "carried along by the Holy Spirit. " That's one of His many jobs.
Have you ever "heard" from the Holy Spirit? Have you sensed in your spirit that the Lord is telling you something? Has the Lord taken you to scripture and shown you what He wants you to know? Has He brought someone into your life to tell you something?
We can sit in church and something the pastor says convicts us. Should we get mad at the pastor? No, he's just a messenger. Should we get mad at God because we don't like the message? No, we need to repent (turn away from).
Prophecy in scripture is for us to see some of what the Lord has done, is doing and will do. He has not left us deaf, blind and dumb. So, as you study scripture, see how it applies to you, take encouragement from it and teach it if the Lord directs you to.

Listening to Him,
Sandy
