2 Corinthians 3:18

Hey,
I hope you all had a good weekend. We did. We went to Sunday school. The teacher was teaching on church history and was very interesting. Isn't the Lord wonderful to bless us? Did you see His hand of blessing on you? If not, think about the fact that you survived the weekend!
Yesterday was a really good day, but long busy one. In the morning Sandy, the new disciple came and we got better acquainted. I'm going to enjoy teaching her. I think that she thinks she knows more than she does. It will be interesting to hear how she learns something, or better understands what she knows.
She shared some things to help me better understand how much 'excess baggage' she has. She's saved, but hasn't been living an obedient life. But, she wants to! Please continue to keep her in your prayers. Thanks!
As I was thinking about a blog today, the Lord led me to 2 Corinthians 3:18: "And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into His likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit."
The foot notes in my Bible tell us: Believers are "in process" - looking more like Christ all the time, but not finished until after their earthy life. To express this, Paul borrowed language from two prevailing views of his day: (1) Mystery religions believed a divine revelation would immediately transform a person, (2) Jewish prophetic teaching taught that personal transformation occurred at the end of time.
Romans 12:2 talks about being transformed by the renewing of your mind (studying the Word). Here it teaches that by the Spirit, He is transforming us and that it's a process. I didn't enter my Christianity a mature believer. It's taken years and I'm still not done.
For Sandy, she knows some things, is willing to learn more things so that she can be transformed by the Word. Her eagerness is delightful. I know that the Spirit has been working on her because of how she explained that she "has" to learn more. She's amazed at how the Lord has been drawing her, protecting her and rejoicing with her because He's on the throne of her life.
Do you still have an eagerness to study His Word? Are you being transformed? Who is sitting on the throne of your life? Spend some time today before the Lord and seek His face and desire a closer walk with Him so that you will be 'transformed'.

Rejoicing in Him,
Sandy
